Barbara Wood grew up in West Virginia and is the youngest of four children. She comes to the Legacy Academy family with a 20-year background in business, marketing, finance and sales. She is an honor graduate of West Virginia University and Technical Institute with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. Her journey into Early Childhood education began due to her passion for educational excellence and her own “little legacy”, now almost 3-years-old.
As a parent looking for a quality preschool to send her 18 month old daughter, she was in awe of the LACK of a preschool that met her high standards: a quality curriculum, an enriched environment, a superior accreditation program and hygienic & safe surroundings in the Smyrna area. She wanted a preschool where she could feel totally comfortable entrusting her most precious creation to someone else’s care. She sought a place where her child would be exposed to new experiences, thrive, learn, and expand her brain capacity – all veiled under the guise of PLAY. Thus, she began her journey to bring such a place to her community!
